Aries Full Moon Miniscopes
Aries Full
Moon Miniscopes
Forming Fire.
The Full Moon falls at 24º Aries, 7:26 AM ET on October 17th. And so eclipse season comes to a close.
New and Full Moons carry themes from one to the other within every astrological season and beyond. They play on what the other is saying and work in tandem to create an overarching story. This Full Moon in Aries continues the conversation from the eclipses in Aries and Libra. The viewpoint is more direct and less passive. We have finished eclipse season and now we are in a place of rediscovering direction. What was internalized now comes out into the open. There is less reflection – and more action.
This is perfectly timed, as we are looking to the expanded story of Libra Season. We have established our bonds... But who are we within those unions? The Aries energy of this Full Moon requires us to know where we as individuals end, and another begins. We must not only see how we fit together but what drives us individually. A relationship requires two individuals to come together to work toward a common goal. Thus, we maintain autonomy in the process, but we don’t stop supporting each other. We are now asked to see what lights our fires and brings passion into our lives.
Mars is the leader of this Full Moon, and it finds itself in an important position. Mars is forming a square to Full Moon, creating some tension between these cosmic powerhouses. There is a sense that we need to align our values and our morals with our intended actions. Simultaneously, Mars activating the Sun and Moon will speak to a habit that needs to end. Perhaps we are in a space where we desire closure or to move on from what was as we navigate uncharted territory. Sometimes, letting go can be freeing and motivating. Mars is slower than normal now, as it prepares to retrograde in December. Whatever we see occur now will play out in a bigger way over the next many months. Mars loves seeing things completed and paving new pathways. The Mars Rx later this year will do just that for us.
Venus and Jupiter have some power over this Full Moon. Venus is reaching out lovingly to Neptune and Pluto in a trine and sextile. This harmony is something that we can welcome. We may feel a depth that can’t be explained, but there is beauty in it. Almost as if there is an acceptance of things as they are and making them the best they can be. Jupiter will support the Full Moon through a sextile and bring the expansive energy of the planet to new insights and inspiration. Its influence bridges the gaps and helps us recognize what is truly important in the big picture. Anything that may arise is for a greater outcome in the end. In some ways, this is a hero’s journey and the understanding of our growth on that journey.
Direction is the word I would put on this Full Moon. With the Moon’s transit through Aries, we are asked to find our next steps, our next direction. If we are feeling stuck, uneasy, or uncertain, making moves will create the change of pace that we may seek. Some things are worth fighting for, and Aries never backs down from a challenge.
If you have any personal planets in your chart at 20º to 29º, you will feel the effects of this Full Moon the most. Especially those with strong Cardinal placements. So, let’s break this down by sign! Always read Sun, Moon, and Rising.
NOTE: Due to my travels, these miniscopes are written by Aubrey Houdeshell. I have still written the introduction above, but the sign-by-sign breakdown is by Aubrey. Please enjoy this generous offer and to learn more about Aubrey, head to the bottom of the page!
ARIES TO CANCER
Aries & Aries Rising
For the past year and a half, the New and Full Moons in Aries have been accompanied by an eclipse, asking you relentlessly for growth, evolution, and change. So perhaps this lunation comes as a bit of a relief, as it is the first Full Moon in Aries without an eclipse attached. The Full Moon comes through to light up your first house, making now your time to shine. The North Node has been transiting this area of your chart for over a year now, too, placing a strong, positive influence on your identity, beliefs, and appearance. Perhaps now you feel ready to embody this new version of yourself, and to share it a bit louder and more proudly than before. Perhaps there are even more layers of yourself that you are ready to shed in order to allow a more authentic version of yourself to shine through. This is the moment to embrace all that you are, and to feel good about it!
The leader of this moon is Mars, your ruling planet, who is hanging out in your fourth house in Cancer. Perhaps your family and/or home life feels especially busy or important now. There may be an opportunity for you to truly nurture your most private, intimate areas, as Mars asks you to take action here. Mars also happens to be opposite Pluto in your tenth house, at 29 degrees Capricorn. This opposition brings focus to both the most private area in your chart, and the most visible, placing an emphasis on work/life balance. It’s possible they have felt at odds with one another lately, especially with Pluto asking you to close out a long-standing era in some way.
Luckily though, Venus in Scorpio - also at 29 degrees - comes through to offer support to both Mars and Pluto from your eighth house. Remember that the eighth house is the house of shared resources: perhaps there is someone around who can help you take a few things off of your plate, or at least offer up some kind of support at this time. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your dear ones! They will be happy to show up for you right now.
Taurus & Taurus Rising
This Full Moon is illuminating your twelfth house Taurus, a place that normally exists behind a veil of obscurity, completely in the dark. You may feel a bit withdrawn or low energy underneath the Full Moon, which are typical feelings whenever the Moon is transiting our 12th houses. Thanks to the light of the moon, there may be things rising to the surface of your conscious awareness that feel uncomfortable, perhaps pointing to something you thought you’d moved on from, but is becoming clear you haven’t. As the parts of yourself that normally exist in the shadows are dragged out into the light of the moon, give yourself some solitude and quiet time to process whatever is coming up. Remember that Full Moons are release points, so give yourself permission to let go a little more now.
Mars, the leader of this Full Moon, is hanging out in your third house, opposite Pluto in Capricorn in your ninth house, at 29 degrees Capricorn. This opposition is asking you for a change in perspective. What action can you take now to further foster releasing the past? How does letting go make room for greater expansion and growth? What new opportunities are ready to bloom now that they have room to? One of the lessons of the twelfth house is that we have to let things go in order to make room for new things to expand. Change is no easy task for Taurus placements, it’s true, but I want to challenge you to view endings as opportunities for better things to come in, rather than something bad.
Venus, who is at the final degree of Scorpio in your seventh house of partnerships, is harmonizing with both Mars and Pluto, bringing some tenderness and ease to fully embrace this new perspective. You might also benefit from sharing what you’re going through with a loved one at this time. Let them be there for you during this time of transition.
Gemini & Gemini Rising
Community is the name of the game underneath this Full Moon, Gemini, as the Moon is illuminating your eleventh house. This area has been a huge focus since last July, when the North Node in Aries first began transiting here. As the moon lights up this area of your chart, this is a moment to reflect on how your community has changed over the past fifteen months. Who is still around? Who have you welcomed in? Which communities are you immersed in?
Because the eleventh house also rules over the future and our hopes and dreams, this is a great opportunity to dream bigger about your life. Where would you like to be in the next five years? Connecting with those around you could also be helpful to bounce ideas around and flesh out what you really want from life moving forward.
Mars leads this lunation from your second house of personal resources, opposite Pluto in your eighth house of shared resources. Pluto in Capricorn and Venus in Scorpio sit at the final degree of their respective signs, offering up an important lesson around depth and reciprocity in your various relationships. Who is truly there for you? Who are you truly there for? Where and how and with whom are your resources tied up?
With Venus offering its support from your sixth house, this is an important moment to reflect on your real, everyday life, and who you spend your time with. The role of reciprocity and balance in relationships during this lunation cannot be overstated. This is a moment to take stock of how you show up, as well as who is showing up for you. Spend time with those who fill your cup for real.
Cancer & cancer Rising
Your career may be playing an important role at this time, Cancer, as the Full Moon in Aries moves through your tenth house, illuminating your reputation and calling your purpose to the forefront of your mind. These have been important themes for the past while now, as the transiting North Node in Aries has helped to expand and boost this area of your life. With the Full Moon shining its light on the most visible area of your chart, this is a moment to take stock of everything that has transpired in your career since last July, and if there’s anything left that you are ready to let go of in order to move into greater authenticity and authority.
Mars is leading this Full Moon from your first house, while opposing Pluto at the final degree of Capricorn in your seventh, highlighting the relationship axis. Indeed, relationships may be playing an especially important role right now - especially business partnerships. You may be in high demand, or you might just have a lot going on right now in general. With Pluto in its final moments of Capricorn, you are closing out a decade and a half-long chapter where all of your important, intimate relationships are concerned. Taking a moment to reflect on what has changed in this area since 2008 could offer up some much-needed perspective.
Meanwhile, Venus in Scorpio, also at the final degree, comes in to offer support and ease through this final moment of transformation. While Venus finds its joy in your fifth house of romance and creativity, perhaps you can approach your love life with new eyes. Venus in Scorpio is intimately familiar with the process of transformation that relationships can ignite, but don’t forget that healing and a greater potential for love, nurturing, and intimacy lie on the other side of transformation.
LEO TO SCORPIO
Leo & Leo Rising
The Full Moon in Aries is lighting up your ninth house, Leo, emphasizing the bigger trajectory of your life. This has been a big focus for you for over a year now, as the North Node in Aries has been transiting this space, asking you about what you believe in, and where your life is headed. As the moon illuminates this space, you may find yourself reflecting on those themes, seeking further answers or stimulation from a class or workshop or teacher. This is a moment to get back in touch with what your truth is, and to release old beliefs that no longer resonate. What do you place your faith in? Where in your life could you benefit from greater expansion?
Interestingly, Mars in Cancer is leading this Full Moon from your twelfth house of spirituality, connecting beautifully with the search for a greater truth in your ninth house. Opposite Mars is Pluto in its final moment of Capricorn in your sixth house of daily routines and rituals. This dynamic is asking what action you’re taking in your daily life that is supportive of the bigger goals of your life. Are you nurturing your dreams and moving toward your goals, or are you trapped in the daily grind? The Full Moon is asking you to shift your focus towards something higher, to believe in the possibilities and potential of your life.
Venus in Scorpio offers up its support of this journey from your fourth house, harmonizing with Mars, Pluto, and Neptune who is still hanging out in Pisces in your eleventh house of dreams, community, and the future. Spending a bit of time alone to really engage in reflection will be the most beneficial thing now. However, if the opportunity to connect with someone you’re especially close with comes up, you might benefit from sharing your visions with them.
Virgo & Virgo Rising
The Full Moon in Aries lights up your eighth house at this time, Virgo, shining light on a place that normally exists in shadow. The eighth house is a very interesting place, containing things like shared resources, but also death, sex, and transformation. Thanks to the transiting North Node in Aries, you’ve already been grappling with these themes since last July. The light of Full Moon offers up a moment of clarity, and the chance to truly shed some dead weight in order to make room for healing, growth, and rebirth. You may also find yourself reflecting on what and with whom your resources are tied up with, and whether or not you’d like to maintain that connection. Because Full Moons point to release, if there’s a connection you’ve been looking to sever, let this be your permission slip.
Mars, the leader of this Full Moon, is hanging out in Cancer in your eleventh house of community, further highlighting the theme of resources. Because we look at all of our relationships in this house, Mars is inviting you to take stock of who truly supports you, and vice versa. You may find yourself quite active within your community under this Full Moon, nurturing your important relationships. There may be an opportunity for networking at this time, which could bring in some new, supportive avenues.
Meanwhile, Pluto will be opposite Mars, now in its final moments in Capricorn from your fifth house of joy, creativity, and self-expression. This is an area of your life that has undergone significant change since 2008, and is now being highlighted one final time to make sure that you leave room for play, romance, and fun, alongside all of the demands of your relationships.
Venus in Scorpio, also in its final moments in Scorpio, comes through to support this opposition from your third house, while also harmonizing with Neptune in Pisces in your seventh house of committed partnerships. Relationships are truly the name of the game underneath this lunation. Take advantage of this auspicious moment and connect with the important people in your life. There are many gifts available to you right now!
Libra & Libra Rising
Partnerships of all kinds are center stage right now, Libra, with the Full Moon in Aries illuminating your seventh house. But what else is new, am I right? Thanks to the transiting North Node, which is also in Aries, your close relationships have been front and center for a long while now. This Full Moon is an opportunity for you to take stock of your important connections, to assess what you have learned or what has changed over the past fifteen months, and if there’s anything left that needs to shift now. You could benefit greatly from connecting with those close to you, whether a lover, friend, or important business partnership.
Mars in Cancer leads this lunation from your tenth house of career, which may be an especially busy area of life right now. Meanwhile, Pluto, now direct at 29 degrees Capricorn, is opposite Mars down in your fourth house. This opposition is highlighting both the most visible, and the most private areas in your chart, placing an emphasis on work/life balance, and asking you to assess if you have that right now. Remember that Mars in Cancer is asking us to take action around nurturing ourselves. What does that mean to you right now?
Venus, your ruling planet, comes through in its final moments in Scorpio to bring some softness to this opposition from your second house of resources while harmonizing with Neptune in Pisces in your sixth house of health, routines, and your job. Both planets are offering good news for all things career and money-related, but don’t forget those aren’t the only resources available to you. Perhaps this is a moment to lean on others and allow someone to show up for you for once, instead of you always showing up for others. There is plenty of support to be had, you simply have to ask for it.
Scorpio & Scorpio Rising
The ins and outs of your daily life are likely on your mind during this time, Scorpio, as the Full Moon shines its light on your sixth house of daily rituals, routines, and your job. This area of your life has been a huge focus for you since last July, with the transiting North Node and the ensuing eclipses bringing about lots of change - in a good way! With the Full Moon shining its light upon this area, too, you may find yourself assessing how you’re living your daily life. Does it feel supportive of your health? How are you taking care of your body? Does your everyday life feel fulfilling at this time? Because Full Moons are release points, there may be something about the way you’re living your life that needs to change in the day-to-day. That’s okay - this is a moment to make room for what really matters to you, and what feels authentic.
Mars, your ruling planet, leads this lunation, while hanging out in Cancer in your ninth house of spirituality, travel, and the bigger picture. There may be an opportunity to take a trip of some kind, or perhaps a class or workshop, something to expand your horizons in some way. Take advantage of whatever that is, and use it as a way to get back in touch with what you believe in.
Pluto in Capricorn - at 29 degrees no less - opposes Mars in your third house. The ask here is for a perspective shift. Mars wants you to take action in alignment with your bigger goals and desires, whatever that means, and to align your day-to-day grind with the bigger trajectory of your life. Pluto is emphasizing some kind of transformation in the smaller picture, the details that need to come together to match up with the big picture, as well. How do the two need to come together so the details support the bigger picture and vice versa?
Venus, transiting the final degree of your sign, offers up its support from your first house, while receiving some help from Neptune in Pisces in your fifth house of joy, creativity, and self-expression. Don’t forget to sprinkle in some fun, beauty, and pleasure when considering the larger scope of your life.
SAGITTARIUS TO PISCES
Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising
Fun, joy, play, creativity, and romance are being highlighted for you underneath this Full Moon, Sagittarius - lucky you!
For the past fifteen months, the transiting North Node in Aries has been asking you to learn how to be in the present moment, express yourself more creatively, and cultivate greater joy. As the light of the Full Moon fills up this same space, you may find yourself assessing whether or not you’ve done that. Perhaps there is an opportunity to let go of something in your life that blocks you from accessing the things that make you feel good or impedes you from being able to feel grounded and present. Embracing a little bit of spontaneity or impulsiveness might be helpful right now.
Interestingly, the leader of this Moon is Mars in Cancer, who is currently hanging out in your shadowy eighth house, asking for a bit of transformation on your end around how to choose to take action and assert yourself. You might have to get honest with yourself on how what you choose to do or not do is what’s blocking real potential for pleasure, fun, and joy. Mars also happens to be opposite Pluto in its final moments of Capricorn in your second house, amping up the theme of transformation in general, but also asking what you truly value now, after undergoing significant change in this area since 2008.
Venus, also at the 29th degree, but in Scorpio, harmonizes with both Mars and Pluto from your twelfth house, while reaching out to Neptune in Pisces from your fourth house. Because these planets are hanging out in two of the most private houses in the chart, you may need to spend a bit of time by yourself to really flesh out what love, romance, creativity, and pleasure mean to you at this point in your life. And/or spending time with someone very, very close to you whom you can reveal the most intimate parts of yourself. Remember that romance and intimacy can include fun! Indeed, for you, they must.
Capricorn & Capricorn Rising
The Full Moon in Aries is illuminating your fourth house, Capricorn. As the lowest place in the birth chart, this is an incredibly private place, which may leave you feeling a bit withdrawn, introspective, and tending to things at home.
This isn’t really something new, as the transiting North Node in Aries has been placing a huge emphasis on the more private, intimate areas of your life for over a year now. This has asked you to pull away from visibility and the career in some way, in order to pay more attention to the people and things that truly matter. As the Full Moon illuminates this space, you may find yourself wanting to spend time with your most intimate circle, or to tend to your home in some way. Because Full Moons are times of release, this could be a great time to clean out your closets, or rearrange furniture to let in some new and different energy for the darker half of the year. Do something that honors what you truly need right now.
Meanwhile, Mars is leading this moon, still in Cancer, in your seventh house of partnerships. Because Mars brings action and general busyness, your close relationships might be playing an especially prominent role right now. Mars also happens to be opposite Pluto, which is in its final moments in your sign, at the very edge of your first house, further highlighting the relationship axis. Do your relationships feel balanced? Equal? Fair? Perhaps there’s a need to reinforce some boundaries at this time. Take a moment to assess whether or not you’re feeling nourished by your connections, and/or if there’s an important relationship that could benefit from your attention right now.
Luckily, Venus, who is also in its final moments in Scorpio, is playing a supportive role to both Pluto and Mars from your eleventh house of community, while also receiving a boost from Neptune in Pisces in your third house of your local environment. Relationships are the main focus under this Full Moon, take the time to reach out, socialize, and be among those who really fill your cup.
Aquarius & Aquarius Rising
As the Full Moon in Aries moves through your third house, you may find yourself (and your mind) feeling extra busy at this time, Aquarius. The moon finds its joy in the third house, as it inspires us to speak up and share our thoughts and feelings with others. Thanks to the transiting North Node in Aries, that’s been a big focus for you since July of last year. As the moon shines its light here, perhaps there is something you feel inspired to speak up about. If something has been weighing on your heart and/or mind, allow the energy of the Aries Full Moon to embolden you to give a voice to whatever that is. There may simultaneously be a belief or story that you’ve held about yourself that you are ready to let go of now. Because the third house supports writing, you might benefit from journaling about whatever is coming up right now.
Alternatively, the third house relates to our local environment, our siblings, and all of the short trips we take in our day-to-day life, like commuting to a job or running errands. You might find your plate full with plenty of tasks to attend to!
Mars, the planet of action, is the leader of this Full Moon and is hanging out in Cancer in your sixth house, which happens to be the house of its joy. Your daily life might feel busy as hell at this time, with Mars bringing plenty of action to your job and daily routines. Meanwhile, Pluto opposes Mars while in its final moments in Capricorn from your twelfth house. As you prepare to close out a decade and a half-long era of Pluto reshaping your relationship to solitude, endings, and spirituality, there is a need for balance between the busyness of the mundane, and the necessity of alone time for a healthy spiritual life.
Meanwhile, Venus in Scorpio, also at 29 degrees, makes harmonious aspects to both Mars and Pluto from your tenth house, offering up a boost to your reputation, and maybe even your money and career. Venus also harmonizes with Neptune in your second house of resources, bringing further ease to what’s available to you at this time.
Pisces & Pisces Rising
Your resources are playing an important role right now Pisces, as this lunation stirs up your second house. For the past fifteen months, the North Node has been transiting this house, emphasizing what you have, what you value, and how you access those things. With the Full Moon shining its light here, this may be a moment where a greater understanding of your resources and values comes forward. Because Full Moons are culmination points, perhaps this is a full circle moment for you, where you can celebrate all that you’ve been working towards as far as money, self-esteem, and possessions are concerned.
The leader of this Full Moon is Mars, currently transiting Cancer, in your fifth house of joy. Mars is also opposite Pluto at 29 degrees Capricorn, which is finishing up its stay in your eleventh house. There is a focus on both the present moment, and the future here, especially with Venus coming through in its final moments of Scorpio to offer support from your ninth house of spirituality and the big picture. Where are you now, where are you headed next, and how can the resources at your disposal support you in getting there? Mars is asking you to take action now to support what you want for yourself in the foreseeable future - think the next five years. What do you have now, thanks to the transiting North Node and the eclipses, that you didn’t have before, that opens up the opportunity to dream bigger and get what you desire?
Ultimately, you have undergone a journey with Pluto in your eleventh house of community, dreams, and the future since 2008 which has deeply transformed the people you surround yourself with, and the vision you have for yourself in the future. In this moment, Pluto is harmonizing with Neptune in your first, and Uranus in your third. Allow a new perspective to blossom that you can carry forward and bring to life.
