Astrology of Revolution and Change in History
Welcome to 2020, it’s time for change
Here we are, now in the phases between the Ages of Pisces and Aquarius. I know a lot of you have seen the meme going around talking about Astrological transits in History. I wanted to open that up a little more and shine a light on some of the planetary influences in history! In order to understand what is happening worldwide, it is important to take a look at our astrological past and see where we have been, what influences there were and how some of those things are coming back around/showing up now. Some of you may have heard me talking about what is to come and how we are here to be a part of a rebuild. You may not have fully understood what that meant until now. We have entered a period that is referred to as the Great Awakening. We are going to explore the Astrological Ages, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The planets mentioned here are generational or outer planets, so they have long term effects.
Let’s get started! This is a long post, so bear with me! There is a lot to take in, but it is necessary to understand the full scale of what is happening right now and what to expect in the future.
Here’s a breakdown of some history for you:
The Astrological Ages
We are going to start by looking at the Astrological Ages that occur every 2,000 years. Every age is defined by the sign that it occupies in some way. Below you are going to see some examples of this, starting with the Age of Leo. Although there is currently a lot of argument about when The Age of Aquarius begins and Pisces ends (the ages move backward from the traditional astrological wheel because the Vernal equinox shifts), it is important to note that we are at the doors of the dawning of a new age. For the purpose of what I have personally read, researched and interpreted, I am going to show you the 2,000 year span. Now let’s look at some ancient and modern history, shall we!
The Ancient Ages
The Age of Leo - roughly 10,000 BC to 8,000 BC, “The Golden Age”
Leo is ruled by the Sun, so this was a period of warming post Ice Age.
Here we see the rise of Sun worship
The end of the Glacial Period
The extinction of megafauna (saber-toothed tigers, wooly rhinos, mammoths, etc)
This was a period of warming across the Earth, which isn’t surprising given that Leo is ruled by the Sun and is heliocentric as a sign.
Holocene Epoch period begins
The Age of Cancer - roughly 8,000 BC to 6,000 BC, “The Age of the Mother”
Cancer rules the Home and Domesticity.
Here we start to see the beginning of “modern” civilization
Animals started to be used for farming and everyday life
Nomadic people started to settle into dwellings
We begin to cultivate the land
Buildings were slowly being erected in the oldest settlements of Jericho and Byblos
Moon and Mother Goddess worship
The Age of Gemini - roughly 6,000 BC to 4,000 BC, “The Age of Communication”
Gemini rules all communication, travel, commerce and transportation.
Here is the rise of trade, commerce, writing and literature of different sorts
Trade routes opened and seafaring flourished
Urbanization started
Stronger development of the Left Brain
The earliest written examples discovered are merchandise lists for trade and accounts receivable
Ancient Greek polytheism is believed to have been first documented and/or shared during this period
Proto-writing was developed in China and much of Asia
Polytheism is a central thought surrounding religion and worship
The Age of Taurus - roughly 4,000 BC to 2,000 BC, “The Age of Earth”
Taurus, an Earth sign, rules resources, abundance, art and agriculture.
Here we see the rise in building, agriculture and earthly creations
The pyramids were taking shape, tombs and mummification in Egypt
Belief in an afterlife was widely spread (Scorpio is the opposite of Taurus, so the undercurrent of this age was very Scorpio like)
The early inventions of the potters wheel
Instruments were created and played - the harp, flutes, lyres
Hieroglyphics and recorded history
Oldest wheel ever discovered linked to this age
Bull worshipping - symbols of the Ankh, worship of the Apis Bull
The Age of Aries - roughly 2,000 BC to 1 BC, “The Age of the Ram”
Aries rules all singularity, action, war, weapons, iron and leadership
Here we see the start of some Monotheistic religions
Wars were beginning to wage as empires started to expand - Rome and Greece
Romulus and Remus mythology of the father being Aries or Mars, the God of War - Romans referred to themselves as the Son of Mars
Battering rams were created and used in battle and the start of the Iron Age (metal smithing and modern weaponry developed)
The sacrifice of Abraham’s ram corresponds during this age
The birth and life of Moses
The Modern Ages
The Age of Pisces - roughly 1 AD to 2,000 AD, “The Age of Spirituality”
Pisces (the fishes) rules spirituality, compassion, sacrifice, art, peace, the end of life/entities, boundlessness, selflessness and chaos. Most of us were born in this Age.
The Age begins with the story and birth of Jesus:
He is considered the archetype of Pisces - self-sacrificing, compassionate, peaceful and altruisticFish Symbolism started to show up - the use of the Ichthys in Christianity and stories of the Ichthys being drawn in sand to let others know that they are a follower of Jesus
The Apostles were called the “Fishers of Men” and early Christians were the “Little Fishes”
This Age was the rise of many of the religions we see today and wars waged over religion began and sustained
Archetypes of Pisces and Virgo (the opposite of Pisces) show up in many religions.
Already talked about Jesus as Pisces, but Mary is Virgo (the virgin)The undertone of Virgo in this Age brings with it order and need for organization of chaos and abstractness. Pisces brings with it spirituality, the rise of great art periods that are revered - The Renaissance, Impressionist period, Modernism, etc.
We are ending this Age - looking to the future to see what is to come. We have built the Modern World on the hope that we can have equality and oneness (Pisces is the sign of lack of boundaries), but as a stark contrast, we created heavy boundaries and major divides in trying to confine ideals (Virgo). As we were nearing the end of the Age of Pisces, we were on the cusp or as the Fifth Dimension called it “The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius”. This started to take hold in the 1960s, as the hippie movement, civil rights movements, new age movements were in full swing - the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto marked the time in which we would have eyes into what was to come in the actual Age of Aquarius.
The Age of Aquarius - roughly 2,000 AD to 4,000 AD, “The Age of Freedom”
Aquarius rules freedom, technology, revolution, humanitarianism, science, collective ideals, the underdog, uniqueness, authenticity, and truth
Here’s what to expect under the Age of Aquarius:
As we have entered or are beginning to enter the Age of Aquarius, we will see major changes in our structures. Humanitarianism thrives. Aquarius is the sign of the Future. We are now looking to break down the barriers from the prior Age and question some of the beliefs that were instilled in us under the veil of “kindness” and “oneness”. We celebrate the individuality and uniqueness, explore our inner selves and access more group consciousness. We are aiming to belong to something greater than ourselves, but we also understand that our individualism is a part of something bigger than us. We will embrace new ideas, new concepts and aim to achieve actual equality.
Science will be on the forefront, as will Space Travel and all things electric and technological. We will develop new medicines, ingenious ways to survive, new inventions and make radical changes in our everyday lives. It starts slowly but comes quickly. Aquarius is the sign of Hopes and Dreams. We have the ability to make our dreams come true. We are less idealistic, but instead have the scientific and factual support to express what we hope for most. Things come to the surface now and revolutions across the world begin. People are finding ways to come together and communicate on a grand scale. We embrace our differences, while celebrating our togetherness.
This is a period of enlightening and what some call the “Great Awakening”. We are jolted. Transparency and sustainability come to the forefront, as do civil rights and true understanding. We are seeing this now, in this moment, in so many ways. We may also see the opposite energies of Aquarius rise (Leo) as a result trying to limit the expression of this Age. This would be militarism, narcissism, dictators - but Aquarian energy can not be tamed. Aquarius is the chaotic good. We may enter another World War or countries will experience major unrest in the fight to stop oppression. Aquarius is the sign of the underdog and those that are kept down in the face of oppression, so there is reason to believe that those that are being kept down will prevail to change the system. We aim to create peace in this time and have a true sense of humanity.
Many of the great change makers and inventors of history have Aquarius prominently in their charts (even if it isn’t their Sun sign) - MLK JR, Oprah, Galileo, Darwin, Frederick Douglass, Benjamin Franklin, Susan B Anthony and many, many more. We are entering the Age of Freedom.
The Outer & Generational Planets
Now that we have the history of the Ages, let’s take a closer look at this past Age and this current Age that we are in to see how our aspects are creating the atmosphere of Revolution. I will be drawing some historical evidence of astrological transits (all of these transits will be related to the ones we are experiencing right now). Our current transits are as follows:
Saturn in Capricorn (temporarily) until it moves to Aquarius for the next 3 years
Uranus in Taurus
Neptune in Pisces
Pluto in Capricorn
Some of these transits have occurred together but not ALL of these at the same time. This is the perfect momentum of MAJOR change. Something that we have never seen before on this scale.
The Influence of Saturn
Saturn rules limitations, structures, politics, governments, establishments, boundaries, tradition, rules and authority.
Let’s talk Saturn for a second. Saturn completes a transit around every sign in about 27-30 years (changing signs about every 2.5 to 3 years). Saturn always reveals weak areas that need strengthening in its transits. It makes an important conjunction with Jupiter (when they meet up together) every 19 years or so and approximately for 200 years at a time, a Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions occur in signs of the same element. This is important to note because we are ending a cycle of Earth (structure and rigidity) and heading into a 200 year cycle of Air (ideas, communication and change). During the Saturn cycle of Earth we focused on industrialization, economic growth and strengthening governing systems - but at the expense of human rights. So with Saturn cycle in Air signs, we will turn our attention to humanity, social structures, people, justness, ideas and communication.
Saturn in Capricorn
For the past three years, we have had Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn. When Saturn is in Capricorn, we try to enforce structure to politics, governments, establishments and rules. We feared scarcity and having nothing. We focused on self-preservation. In history, Saturn in Capricorn occurs right before global crisis or political reform/collapse. It breaks down what isn’t working anymore. We also push for ways to build barriers around ourselves and “preserve” our resources. Major political movements start to take shape to create lasting establishments. In just the past 100 years, here is a look at Saturn in Capricorn:
Mar 15 1929 – Nov 20 1932
Black Tuesday and demise of Global Economy & Great Depression. Soviet Famine, Communism and Fascism rise. Major building in the US: Empire State Building completed, building of San Fran Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, GW Bridge over Hudson and Hoover Dam.Jan 5 1959 – Jan 3 1962
Cold War - construction of the Berlin Wall, Bay of Pigs invasion, Kennedy Presidency, Vietnam War and Counterculture about to start, Fidel Castro internationally recognized as head of Cuba, fall of imperialism across Europe (New World Order).Feb 14 1988 – Feb 6 1991 (not including Jun 10 – Nov 12 1988)
Cold War ends, Berlin Wall Falls, Modern EU foundations, Unification of Yemen, Break of Yugoslavia, Poll tax riots in UK, end of Reagan, start of H. W. Bush, Gulf War, Romanian Revolution.Dec 20 2017 – Dec 17 2020 (not including Mar 22 – Jul 2 2020)
Donald Trump seeks to build a wall between US and Mexico, fascism/nationalism is rising again, Covid 19, reorganization and potential collapse of EU, NATO, UN and other well known worldwide political, economical and structural systems, cryptocurrencies.
Saturn in Aquarius
For the next three years, we will have Saturn in its Aquarius. When Saturn is in Aquarius, we now reform and revolutionize our structure in politics, governments, establishments and rules. We create an upheaval of old ways of thinking, only to put new plans in place. In history, Saturn in Aquarius occurs in times of great change, political reform and new waves of social structure. It demolishes segmentation and shows us our connection to something larger than ourselves. We no longer preserve resources, but instead preserve the group and people. Law reformation, innovation in technology, civil acts, social justice, major natural storms and the dismantling of long held beliefs start when Saturn is in Aquarius. Here is what has happened in the past century with this transit:
Nov 20, 1932 - Feb 14, 1935
FDR’s New Deal - changes to banking and institutions. Economic restructures and reforms.Jan 3, 1962 - Dec 16, 1964
Death of Kennedy, Civil Rights Movement, Equal Opportunity Employment Act, civil unrest, riots, Civil Rights Act of 1964, Counterculture, Space Race full steam ahead, interest in experimental drugs becomes popular.Feb 6, 1991 - Jan 28, 1994
Apartheid was dismantled, Rodney King riots, Clinton becomes President, Hurricane Andrew in Florida, “Storm of the Century” hits Eastern Seaboard of US, campaign for a national healthcare system in US, poll tax eliminated in UK.Mar 21, 2020, to Jul 1, 2020 & Dec 17, 2020, to Mar 7, 2023
Here is what to expect: This is the first of a few outer planets to move into Aquarius. Jupiter will move at the same time, starting that new 200 year cycle of change. Communication, collectiveness and invention is at the forefront. Political changes are expected, more riots and protests are likely, the dismantling of old governing systems across the world. We will work toward freedom, equality and drastic reformations. More community involvement and a critical eye on social structures. Focus on justice and contributions. We will recognize that we are more responsible for ourselves, because we impact the world at large. There will be greater technological advancements. This will bring change for the masses, as we let go of our pasts.
THE INFLUENCE OF URANUS
Uranus rules insights, intellect, rebellion, independence and where we seek freedom. It governs electricity, inventions, democracy, revolutions and our genius. It rules societies, clubs, and any group based on humanitarian or progressive ideals.
This planet changes signs about every 7 years. Uranus is the planet that is ruled by Aquarius (so more revolutionary energy), and focuses on our societal and social changes. It is progressive and rules revolution and global change. It is our need to have momentum, movement and expression collectively. Those born with Uranus in Sagittarius bring Revolution of Voice and Ideals. Born with Uranus in Capricorn - The Change-makers of Society. Uranus in Aquarius, The Reformers of Social Justice. Uranus in Pisces, The Empathic Healers. Uranus in Aries, The Leaders of Invention. Uranus in Taurus, The Sustainers of Restructure.
uranus in Taurus
Uranus doesn’t do well in the confines of an earth sign like Taurus. It is actually in its Fall. It needs less structure and more room to grow. There is a resistant energy at the beginning of this transit, as Taurus upholds tradition. Taurus also rules finances, banking and anything money related. So, what to expect? Historically, when Uranus is in Taurus we see financial reform, social activism breaking down regimes and empires, the loss and restructure/reallocation of our resources and changes to what we see as valuable. People are trying to change tradition. In the past 250 years, here are the things we’ve seen during this transit:
May 3, 1767 - April 8, 1775
The enacting of taxes by the British Parliament on the American colonists, The Boston Tea Party and the start of the American Revolution, the beginnings of the French Revolution (Marie Antoinette marries Louis XVI) and the Industrial Revolution.July 8, 1850 - March 14, 1859
Harper’s Ferry Raid and the pre-Civil War unrest in the US, The Indian Mutiny against British rule in India, Uncle Tom’s Cabin Published and the anti-slavery movement of the 1850’s, preparation for American Civil War.June 6, 1934 - May 15, 1942
The New Deal in full force, World War II started and ongoing, bombing of Pearl Harbor, US involvement in WWII, product of atomic bomb is approved, “Native American New Deal” enacted, Selective Service Act (requiring all men between the ages of 21 and 45 to register for the draft) - preparing US for entry into WWII.March 6, 2019 - July 7, 2025
Here is what to expect: We have already seen some major impacts of Uranus in Taurus. Financial breakdowns and big recessions have occurred by “unforeseen circumstances”. There will be more. We are going to be (and have been) rethinking, reforming and changing the way we think about the use of money and currency. If you notice, there are wars associated with this transit, so there is a likelihood of war in the coming years or at least major unrest (we are already seeing it). But they are followed by years of peacetime. We will see the reform of resources across the world and potentially change our views on what we find valuable now. “Luxury” goods will be limited or no longer seen as “luxury” as they will become more accessible. Changes to how we use the Earth and natural resources we obtain. We are going to revolutionize the way we approach the Earth.
The Influence of Neptune
Neptune rules our chaos, sacrifices, idealism and imagination. It is the collective consciousness, artistry, empathy and the universal truths.
Neptune changes signs about every 14 years. During Neptune transits, we see changes in fashion, culture, art, spiritualism, medicine and drugs. We also change our belief systems and have periods of chaos that leave us looking to adapt to something new. Major sacrifices are made. The people born under Neptune in Sagittarius are the Spiritual Awakeners of Injustice. Neptune in Capricorn people are the Builders of Peace and Manifesters of the New World. Neptune in Aquarius people are the Bringers of Insight and Collective Unity. Those born with Neptune in Pisces will be/are the Collective Intuitives, Great Empaths and Healers.
Neptune in Pisces
Pisces is a home placement, amplifying the energy of Neptune. We are tapping in more to the collective, are more intuitive and have a stronger connection to the spiritual. We are empathetic and compassionate. Historically, Neptune in Pisces also shows a time of disease/or ending of one, changes in medicine, the fall of great societies and the rise of new religions/the condemnation of others. There are also revelations in music, art and new discoveries. This also heightened the Age of Pisces - leading to major religious wars. Here is a quick look at the ancient & modern effects of Neptune in Pisces:
374 - 389 AD
The split of the Roman Empire and the persecution of Pagans in the empire - the beginning of the fall of the Roman Empire538 - 552 AD
The rise of Buddhism in the East and a plague running through the Roman Empire brought on by rats701 - 716 AD
The expansion of Islam1192 - 1207
The Crusades and Genghis Khan empire in Eastern Asia
1356 - 1372
The end of the Bubonic Plague, rise in new medicinal practices as a result1520-1534
Protestant Reformation starts, Martin Luther condemned, Pizarro brings end to Incan Empire, Aztec Empire destroyed, Henry the 8th declared Supreme Head of Church of England1684 - 1698
Louis 14th bans all religions in France but Roman Catholicism, England parliament Bill of Rights, Salem Witch Trials (seen as threats to religion).1847 - 1862
Communist Manifesto written (collective sameness), Confederacy forms, Civil Wars begins, anti-slavery movement, Darwin’s Origin of Species published, revolutions in Europe.2011 - 2025
Here is what to expect: Major disasters tied to water and flooding (Neptune rules water and Pisces is a water sign). We will have changes to our belief systems, because we are becoming more open minded. What we can expect is religious freedom, more sympathy and kindness, challenges to strict religions, and younger generations pulling away from religion in general. There will be more medical advancements due to the rise of epidemics or pandemics (Covid 19 shows up). We will have changes to our attitudes on people and boundaries/confinements/prisons. Pisces need freedom of movement and boundlessness. Attempts to have more open borders and freer societies. Great awakenings to mistreatment and pain of others. Approaching world views from an emotional and spiritual place.
The Influence of Pluto
Pluto rules how we transform. It is our power, secrets, renewals, survival and major changes. It rules taboos, control and cycles. It is absolutes, extremities, evolutions, incredible feats, mass movements, and the need to cooperate or share with another. It rules massive wealth, big business, surgeries and exposing the light on the truth.
Pluto transits one sign every 14-30 years. So, no one person will see the entirety of its transit in their lifetime. This marks the movement of the planet as significant, as it defines a generation. Millennials are born in Pluto in Scorpio - uncovering the darkness, shadow work and transformation of the hidden depths of humanity. Gen Z is Pluto in Sagittarius - exposing the truth on beliefs, transforming societal goals and thoughts. These two generations are leading the movement in change right now. During Pluto transits, we face karma. There is no stopping what is to come.
Pluto in Capricorn
The greatest indication of the end of the world as we know it. It isn’t the ACTUAL end of the world, just our concept of what we have always known. Pluto rules death, secrets, cycles, transformation and destruction. It brings with it a new place to sow our seeds and an energy of rebirth. Capricorn rules governments and structures (very Saturn-like energy because it rules Saturn naturally). When Pluto is in Capricorn, it destroys societies in place to make room for new ones. There are MAJOR political power shifts that occur. It transforms long-held, outdated systems economically and politically. It exposes corruption and calls for the death of policies. Pluto is also associated with borrowed and collective money, untapped potential and hidden resources/dangers - so there can be a discovery of new resources at this time or unforeseen natural disasters tied to volcanos. Capricorn rules corporations, and Pluto is looking to shine a light on corporate greed. Here are some historical points of Pluto in Capricorn:
532 - 551
The Dark Ages, The fall of many empires at the time, as well as, the eruption of Krakatoa put the Earth in a mini ice age.
778 - 796
Charlemagne, converting people to Christianity, political power shifted in Europe and the founding of the Holy Roman Empire which would ironically fall during another Pluto in Capricorn cycle.
1024 - 1041
China recorded the first use of paper currency and the creation of loans as a result, (Pluto rules borrowed money). What was started then would become the basis of our banking system today.
1269 - 1287
New trade routes between the East and the West. Mongols invaded China. The start of centuries long global trade and the rise of Eastern economic power. The start of the Ottoman Empire - originally the Habsburg Dynasty.
1516-1533
Aztec Empire destroyed, Inca Empire destroyed, Mayan conquest. Gold was stolen from the Americas - making Spain a powerhouse. Ottoman Empire reaches pentacle of power. Protestant Reformation occurs and Henry 8th as the Head of the Church. The collapse of the Holy Roman Empire.
1762-1778
Colonial Era and a time of major Revolutions. The American Revolution and creation of the Declaration of Independence occurs. The start of what would become the French Revolution. The African slave trade increased dramatically. The Industrial Revolution rose - using earthy resources (Pluto in Cap all the way) like coal on a massive scale.
2008 - 2024
Here is what to expect: So here we are now. We have seen a focus on global warming and wanting to be more sustainable (changing how we use the Earth’s resources). We will continue to see the change in politics and economic structures. We will see that there will be major reformations that will be called upon by the people of the globe for all institutions to change. If they won’t, there will be global political collapse. But remember, Pluto also lays the groundwork for new things to grow. So, with every fall, there is a rebirth. We have to look to its upcoming transit of Aquarius to see where the rebirth will occur.
The US is in its Pluto Return and it falls in its 2nd house. Expect political reform and a major economic crisis that sparks the Uranus in Taurus need to make us rethink our currency and attitudes to money. The US is about to endure some heavy karma in its Pluto Return - this is why a lot of the unrest is beginning here. This is the first time in history that the US will experience its Pluto Return. What the politicians and founding fathers have done to other nations or peoples within our own nation will happen to us. We are setting ourselves up for a new 230 year cycle in the states. Expect us to have a major overhaul and power shifts. Our government that stands today, will not be in place in the coming decades and years. There is a likelihood of smaller, more regional governments, instead of one overarching power. The destruction of our land and resources will change - what is valuable to use will no longer be valuable (precious metals, natural resources, etc). We will see the death of currency or the devaluation of currency in some way. What starts here in the US, will trickle out globally. As we change, so will the world.
What’s to come?
what can we expect over the next few years/decades?
So you are reading all of this (and I know it’s a lot), but you say what’s to come and should I make of this? I know it is a hard pill to swallow, and the information can be overwhelming, but I wanted to present as much as I could to give major insight. I wanted to expose the truth.
With all of these placements together we can expects to see revolution and a true New World emerge. We have seen some of these influences work together in the past, but not on this scale and all at once. The closest we have witnessed were the periods leading to the American Revolution or around the Civil War in the US. But with the additional amplified energies and planets, we can expect this on a grander, more global scale.
As many of our outer planets shift from Earth Signs (Saturn, Uranus and Pluto) and into Air Signs, we will see the conscious efforts to change and adapt. We are no longer rigid, enterprising and stubborn - we are instead communicative, interested, expressive and engaged with those around us and ourselves. We focus on ideas and thoughts - leaving our need for material security behind. We are feeling the movement of this energy now as Saturn is beginning its cycle in Aquarius (and the 200 year cycle that I talked about earlier). Once Pluto and Uranus also move into Air Signs in the next 4 to 5 years, we will feel that embrace of the Age of Aquarius as it is in full effect. Pluto moving in Aquarius will allow for a rebirth of the world. Humanitarianism will reign true. Jupiter will enter an Air around the time that Pluto and Uranus do, as well. This will gives us joy, hope and the ability to adapt well during these transitions. Neptune will be Aries by then, looking for us to forge new ground and expanding a message of peace and compassion. On a current front, Jupiter will move into Aquarius this year, touching on Saturn and influencing it toward beneficial reformations. This is called the Great Conjunction.
Although it may be hard to see for some, as this world ends - another one is about to begin. The Great Awakening has begun. We are waking up to the truth of it all - and there is no turning back. Many more truths will be uncovered. Those that can’t or won’t adapt to what’s happening, will be left behind. In looking at the history of these transits, nothing can escape the changes we are about to endure. Remember, with great change, comes great opportunity and growth. Although things will never be perfect, we are aiming to make them better. This is all starting now, and it may take years or decades to see the fruits of our labor, but there is no denying that the world that we know is and will be no longer. We can achieve the Age of Aquarius mentality of collective peace, but we must first dismantle anything that stands in its way. Here is to seeing this growth in our lifetime, and may we always stand on the side of justice and humanity. The Future is now.
